Location

We at Golden Oaks are very fortunate to be nestled in a quiet intersection that comes to life every Thursday when the local farmers’ market sets up shop. We are located in the South Pasadena Mission District, an all-American neighborhood with libraries, restaurants, coffee shops, and stores. Additionally, a Metro Gold Line station is located just a block away for those commuting to Downtown LA.

The South Pasadena Public Library and Senior Center

This wonderful resource located just across the street gives our residents a place to read the latest books and periodicals as well as a place to meet other seniors.

Kaldi Coffee and Tea

Just across the street, Kaldi is a local meeting place where South Pasadena’s residents meet for a cup of joe and good conversation, or simply to read and browse the web.

Buster’s Coffee

An icon of South Pasadena and just around the corner, Buster’s is a long-time hangout spot for locals and is known for good coffee, ice cream cones, and fresh pastries. It's authentically quirky, colorful, organic, health conscious, community oriented, handmade to order...it's just kitschy cool!

Heirloom Bakery and Restaurant

Heirloom Bakery is a bruncher’s delight and offers a killer red velvet cupcake and their famous Hostess cupcake! Heirloom serves a fresh a delicious brunch in a casual atmosphere. Best of all, its right around the corner from us!

Mike and Anne’s Restaurant

Another local culinary delight located just footsteps from Golden Oaks. Mike and Anne’s is stylish, hip, chill, and of course, fun! This is a fantastic restaurant serving delicious American fare with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating as well as a low-key bar.

Firefly Bistro

Moody and mystical, the Firefly is directly across from the Golden Oaks. A foodies delight, the Firefly prides itself on savory food (try the shrimp and grits) and perfect wine pairings. Live music finds its way here on a weekly basis!

South Pasadena Farmer’s Market

Every Thursday afternoon, local farmers, vendors, and food trucks bring fresh pickings and delicious cooking to Golden Oak’s doorstep. The farmer’s market is truly a community gathering and we feel so fortunate to be in the thick of it!

Cycle Annex

For people with a voracious appetite for fitness, Cycle Annex is an all-you-can-eat buffet! This little spinning studio is as good as it gets! The bikes are meticulously maintained, the atmosphere is warm and inviting (no snooty-tooty attitudes here), and they provide complimentary towels. Oh, and Brandon totally rocks!!

Arroyo Seco Golf Course

Just down the street from us, Arroyo Seco is green and lush 18 hole par 3 golf course that will challenge all levels of golfers. There is also a lighted driving range, practice area, and mini-golf for anyone looking for a golf fix!
